Ref. No.: ISAT 010/2018 27 February 2018
Dear ISAT Members,
We would like to invite you to a Professional Development Opportunity "And How High Can They Fly With Broken Wings" for your school administrators, teachers, counselors and parents. The workshop will be presented by world renowned speaker, Mr. Dick Moore and will explore the emotional and mental-ill health of our global youth. Dick was educated at Durham and Newcastle Universities, and has been an English teacher, rugby coach, senior school headmaster, and for over 20 years, a head teacher.
Since November 2012, Dick has been visiting schools, universities and organisations to help raise awareness of mental health issues. Dick estimates that 10% of young people in our world today are suffering from a diagnosed mental health disorder. He concludes that not only does this mean that a vast number of young people are unhappy, but also that they are underperforming at school, college and in the early stages of their careers.
During this workshop Dick will share information about the mental health issues of our youth including: anxiety, stress, eating disorders, self-harm, and depression. He will review ways to identify mental health issues, and discuss what measures schools could take to further safeguard the emotional and mental health of young people. The workshop will be on Thursday, 3 May 2018 from 8.30 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. at Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok.
For more information about the workshop and registration details please refer to the attached flyer and registration form.
We hope you can join us,
