Round Table Discussion Meeting for ISAT International Stand-Alone Kindergartens

2 OCT 2020
International Schools Association of Thailand (ISAT) stand-alone kindergarten Directors and school leaders gathered at the Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel on Friday, 2 October 2020.

ISAT Committee Members Mrs Beverley Petch, Khun Poromit Srikureja, Khun Pran Indhapan and Khun Kumaree Komarakul Na Nagara happily volunteered to organise this key event.

The aims of the meeting were as follows:

  • Discuss the recent challenges and triumphs of school closures during COVID-19, in particular, reflecting on stand-alone kindergartens.
  • Forge a support network of Early Years school leaders.
  • Suggest preparations and contingency plans should we see a second COVID wave with subsequent future closures.

It was truly inspirational to witness everyone enthusiastically sharing ideas and experiences. Avenues of communication and lines of support were established and feedback was extremely positive.  Capturing the overall resolve, one school principal said, “Though we are stand-alone kindergartens, we will never stand alone again.”

Moving forward, the generated thoughts, suggestions and ideas from this extremely productive meeting will be shared at ISAT AGM in November where ISAT will be looking for ways to assist and support its members.
