The International Schools Association of Thailand (ISAT) held its General Member Meeting 2/2026 on September 25, 2026, at The Athenee Hotel, Bangkok. The meeting brought together member schools to share updates, discuss key developments in international education, and strengthen collaboration across the international school community.

ISAT’s five subcommittees shared updates on their ongoing work to support member schools, strengthen educational quality, and advance the association’s priorities.

The meeting also featured guest speaker Dr. Dhave Setabutr, who presented on “Building a Health School,” addressing an important aspect of school health and student well-being.

A key highlight was the address by H.E. Prasert Jantararuangtong, Minister of Education, on “Strengthening International Education in Thailand: The Ministry’s Vision and Policy Directions.” The Minister recognized the contribution of international schools to Thailand’s education landscape, highlighting the sector’s scale of approximately 280 schools, more than 86,000 students, and nearly 20,000 teachers and staff. He emphasized the importance of future-ready, learner-centered education, the responsible use of artificial intelligence and technology, investment in teachers, and the development of students’ critical thinking, creativity, empathy, and integrity.

The Minister reaffirmed the Ministry of Education’s commitment to working with ISAT and its member schools through open and constructive dialogue, particularly on regulation, licensing, quality assurance, and practical matters affecting schools, teachers, and families. The meeting reinforced ISAT’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with government and education stakeholders to support high-quality international education and prepare young people for an increasingly interconnected world.
